Yoka Miso is committed to creating and replicating the experiences that we, as founders, have experienced in our own homes and in the homes of our customers. We want our product to always be of the highest quality and to have an excellent taste, so that our customers can take pride in using it to prepare meals for their family, friends, and local restaurant customers. We believe in enjoying each meal and that the dining table is a place that fosters growth in the community’s soul.
At Yoka Miso we care about our planet and desire a clean and healthy earth. We are committed to minimizing our carbon footprint, serving and supporting our local community, and maintaining transparency in our sourcing, packaging, and production processes. We only partner with suppliers who share a common vision of sustainability, accountability, and transparency.
Shipping & Packaging
We ship 100% plastic-free and carbon neutral. We use 100% compostable packaging down to our labels. Everything is certified backyard compostable, so go ahead, try it out and toss it in your yard waste or backyard compost!
When we first began creating our company and packaging, the discourse around gender-inclusive language had not yet evolved to where it is now. Since printing this set of labels, we recognize that ‘womxn’, which was intended to be an inclusive term, may cause more harm to our community than good. Our future packaging will reflect this and, in the meantime, we appreciate your understanding that growth, education, and inclusivity are never-ending processes that Yoka Miso is committed to. <3
We work to form lasting relationships with our partners in all areas of our operations, including design. Our wonderful logos and labels were designed by Emma Keenan-Grice. She is an Asian woman, visual designer and artist based out of San Francisco. Find her info here!
